This version of the Digital Court Reporter Course is to be taken by those in the United States wishing to study using American spellings in the English language. It has been updated to meet the standards set forth by the AAERT 2019 Best Practices Guide.
This course i will provide students with the ability to record, playback, transcribe, edit, and proofread transcripts for correct grammar, punctuation and word usage.
Students will learn decorum, principles and procedures, annotations, demonstrating the importance of confidentiality and ethics required in the profession.
Students will receive instruction in the set-up and operation of digital recording and playing equipment and apply proofreading principles to transcripts and recordings.
Students will study technology used in digital court reporting and transcript production.
